We feel so incredibly lucky to call New Zealand our home. And while we're based in the most populated city, Auckland, we're never too far a drive from spectacular beaches like Matapouri Bay which sits hidden away on the Tutukaka Coast. 

From the stunning white sand beach to the incredible rock pools (mermaid pools) and a calm clear estuary; there’s plenty of idle play to be had. 

From Matapouri Bay there’s a walkway via the coast to Whale Bay which features awesome coastal views and takes about 40 minutes one way. If you're keen for a surf, Sandy Bay is about a 5 minute drive up the road and is another beautiful Northland gem.

If you’re looking for more to do, there’s a bridge to jump off into calm deep water at high tide. There's tennis courts and a playground for the kids. And you can of course get the essentials, like ice cream and fish'n chips from the local store.

For some of the best diving and snorkelling in New Zealand, head to Tutukaka which is only 10 minutes drive away. Here you'll find the famous casting-off point for The Poor Knights Islands.
